A Home from Home - Loving Care and Individual Attention

Home and Away Cattery is a family-run

boarding cattery, established in 1993 by

   owner Paula Bamlet.

Paula organises your cat's stay personally

from the family's nearby farmhouse, in

beautiful and peaceful setting on the edge of  Dorchester.

Step inside the attractive L-shaped cattery and you'll find a reception area, corridor and two-deck heated sleeping accommodation. There are 24 pens, including a family pen.
Paula treats each guest as if it were her own, and is happy for you to
make an appointment to look around.

"People treat their cats like children," she emphasises, "so you can only have a relaxing holiday if you are confident that your pet is in safe hands."

Many cats return regularly when their owners take a week or weekend break but if you're treating yourself to a longer seasonal holiday, your pet will enjoy its own fresh environment.
Flowering shrubs surround the airy, wooden structure which overlooks a paddock housing a pet sheep called Homer. Paula explains:
"One cat spent three and a half happy months here while his owners were between homes. Each cat is fed to its individual requirements, its coat brushed and its eyes wiped daily."

The pens are sterilised between boarders and all guests must arrive with appropriate vaccination certificates.

Paula's enthusiasm is certainly infectious.

"Owners notice that I've picked up on their cats' little quirks and habits, which is probably why we have so many regular guests."
